
Ingredients:
1.Tomatoes- 6
2. Sesame seeds powder- 3 tbsp
3. Peanut powder- 3 tbsp
4. Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
5. Tamarind- 1 inch
6. Turmeric- pinch
7. Oil- 2 spoons
8. Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp
9. Cumin seeds- 1 tbsp
10. Urad dal- 1 tbsp
11. Red chillies- 2
12. Curry leaves- 1 string
13. Salt - to taste
14. Chilli powder- 1 tsp
Preparation Method:
1. Heat 1 spoon oil in a pan, add chopped tomatoes, saute for 2 minutes. Do not close lid, let it cook for a while.
2. Add turmeric, tamarind to tomatoes. Cook till the tomatoes are soft and mushy. Cool down completely.
3. Add cooked tomatoes into a mixie, add sesame seeds powder, peanut powder, coriander powder, salt and chilli powder. Blend into a soft and smooth chutney.
4. For tempering add oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, urad dal, red chillies, curry leaves. Let curry leaves splatter. Add tempering to the chutney.
5. Tasty and tangy tomato chutney is ready to serve with rice, dosas, parathas, idli.
